UPL Disect Insecticide for Broad-Spectrum Pest Management

UPL Disect Insecticide is a broad-spectrum synthetic pyrethroid insecticide containing Bifenthrin 10% EC. It is recommended for managing label-listed sucking, chewing and soil insect pests in cotton, paddy and sugarcane.

Disect acts mainly through contact and ingestion. Bifenthrin affects the insect nervous system, helping reduce pest activity when applied at the correct stage with uniform crop coverage. Its low water solubility and affinity for treated surfaces can support residual protection under suitable application and weather conditions.

Recommended Crops and Target Pests

Crop Target Pest Recommended Use
Cotton Bollworms and whiteflies Apply as a foliar spray at the early stage of pest infestation with uniform canopy coverage.
Paddy Stem borer, leaf folder and green leafhopper Apply as a foliar spray according to crop stage and label instructions.
Sugarcane Termites Apply through the crop-specific soil treatment method stated on the product label.

Target Pest Spectrum

Target Pest Typical Crop Damage
Bollworms Feed on cotton squares, flowers and bolls, potentially affecting crop development and lint quality.
Whiteflies Suck sap from leaves and may cause yellowing, weakening and honeydew accumulation.
Stem borers Bore into paddy stems and may cause dead-heart or white-ear symptoms.
Leaf folders Fold and feed inside paddy leaves, reducing functional green leaf area.
Green leafhoppers Remove plant sap from paddy foliage and may weaken plants under heavy infestation.
Termites Attack underground sugarcane parts, setts and roots, potentially affecting crop establishment.

How to Use UPL Disect Insecticide

  1. Identify the crop and target pest correctly before application.
  2. Read the complete product label and measure the recommended quantity.
  3. Fill the spray tank halfway with clean water.
  4. Mix the measured Disect quantity separately in a small amount of water.
  5. Add the prepared mixture to the spray tank while stirring.
  6. Add the remaining water and maintain continuous agitation.
  7. For foliar pests, spray uniformly on the upper and lower leaf surfaces.
  8. For sugarcane termites, use only the soil application method stated on the product label.
  9. Use the prepared spray solution on the same day.

Mode of Action

Bifenthrin belongs to IRAC Group 3A. It modifies the functioning of voltage-gated sodium channels in the insect nervous system. This causes prolonged nerve stimulation, loss of coordination, paralysis and eventual death of susceptible insects.

Disect does not primarily depend on systemic movement inside the plant. Therefore, direct contact and uniform coverage of pest-active crop surfaces are important for effective performance.

Why Farmers Can Choose UPL Disect

  • Contains Bifenthrin 10% EC from the UPL brand.
  • Offers broad-spectrum activity against label-listed insect pests.
  • Recommended for important pests of cotton, paddy and sugarcane.
  • Provides both contact and ingestion activity.
  • Suitable for foliar and crop-specific soil application.
