How Dr. Bacto's Meta Gold Works

Meta Gold belongs to the biological insecticide category. The manufacturer's Dr. Bacto's Meta product family uses Metarhizium anisopliae, an insect-pathogenic fungus that can infect susceptible pests through their outer body covering.

After fungal spores contact a suitable insect host, they may germinate and penetrate its cuticle. The fungus develops within the insect, eventually causing mortality. Biological pest control is gradual and depends on soil moisture, temperature, pest susceptibility and microbial viability.
