Seed Requirement Follow the seed rate printed on the packet according to packet weight, spacing and plant population
Sowing Depth Approximately 3–5 cm, subject to soil type and moisture
Spacing Follow the product label or regional recommendation based on soil fertility and irrigation
Suitable Soil Fertile, well-drained cotton-growing soil
Irrigation According to soil moisture, weather and crop-growth stage

Sowing Instructions

  1. Select a fertile, well-drained field with reliable irrigation facilities.
  2. Prepare the field thoroughly to obtain a fine and level seedbed.
  3. Sow the seeds at the depth and spacing recommended on the original packet.
  4. Ensure adequate soil moisture at sowing for uniform germination.
  5. Do not soak chemically treated seeds unless specifically permitted on the product label.
  6. Carry out gap filling and thinning at the appropriate stage to maintain the recommended plant population.
  7. Maintain the prescribed non-Bt refuge according to the instructions supplied with the seed packet.

Nutrient Management

  • Apply well-decomposed farmyard manure during field preparation where recommended.
  • Apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium according to soil-test results and local recommendations.
  • Split nitrogen applications according to the crop’s growth and boll development stages.
  • Correct secondary- and micronutrient deficiencies only after proper field assessment.
  • Avoid excessive nitrogen, which may encourage unwanted vegetative growth.

Irrigation Management

Maintain adequate soil moisture during establishment, square formation, flowering and boll development. Schedule irrigation according to soil type, rainfall and crop stage. Avoid prolonged water stress as well as waterlogging around the root zone.

Pest and Disease Management

  • Regularly inspect the crop for jassids, aphids, thrips, whiteflies, mites and other sucking pests.
  • Monitor for wilt, root rot, leaf spots, bacterial blight and other locally important cotton diseases.
  • Follow integrated pest-management practices and use registered crop protection products only when economically necessary.
  • Rotate insecticides with different modes of action according to local agricultural recommendations.
  • Remove severely damaged plants or affected crop material where advised.

Bollgard II Stewardship

Bollgard II technology provides protection against specified bollworm pests; it does not protect the crop from sucking pests, all caterpillar species, diseases or environmental stresses. Farmers must plant and maintain the prescribed refuge, regularly monitor the field and follow all resistance- management instructions supplied with the seed packet.

Harvesting

Begin picking when the bolls have opened fully and the cotton lint is dry and fluffy. Harvest at regular intervals and avoid picking wet cotton. Keep clean cotton separate from stained or damaged produce to help preserve fibre quality and market value.

Important Information

  • Use these seeds only for agricultural sowing.
  • Do not use treated seeds for food, animal feed or oil extraction.
  • Follow all sowing, refuge and stewardship instructions printed on the original packet.
  • Cultivate the hybrid only in regions where it is approved and recommended.
  • Consult a local agriculture specialist for region-specific spacing, fertilizer and crop-protection recommendations.

Disclaimer: Germination, maturity, crop performance and yield may vary with seed lot, soil fertility, sowing time, irrigation, climate, pest pressure and crop management. The product packet and accompanying leaflet should be treated as the primary source of cultivation instructions.
