Picoxystrobin is a FRAC Group 11 Quinone Outside Inhibitor. It binds at the Qo site of the cytochrome bc1 complex in fungal mitochondria. This blocks electron transfer during mitochondrial respiration and disrupts the production of ATP required for fungal growth, spore germination and disease development.
Technical correction: Picoxystrobin does not control fungi by inhibiting ergosterol production. Ergosterol inhibition is associated mainly with triazole fungicides. Galileo works by blocking mitochondrial respiration.
